3 Project Managers for Danish-German university cooperation

The partners in Wissensregion/Videnregion Syddanmark Schleswig-Holstein (www.videnregion.eu) invite applications for three positions as project managers to be filled from 1st January 2012 or by agreement.

The partners in the Wissensregion / Videnregion are Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Universität Flensburg, Fachhochschule Flensburg, Fachhochschule Kiel, University College Lillebælt, University College Syddanmark and University of Southern Denmark.

The partners have established a joint secretariat at University of Southern Denmark in Odense. To strengthen the collaboration we seek three project managers, who should work with the following cooperation subjects:

  • Development of facilitation of common research projects between partners and external participants
  • Development of a joint platform for research strategy
  • Development of joint/common binational study programs in all fields and at all levels (Bachelor- and Masterprogrammes) in close collaboration with the research units and the central administration at all partner institutions
  • Cooperation with network partners and the business world in the region
  • One of the project managers will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the secretariat
  • One of the project managers will have part time duties regarding project administration

The three project managers will work in close contact with all seven partners. Each partner has an appointed coordinator to communicate with the secretariat and coordinate the project within their institutions. The secretariat is located in Odense (Denmark). The secretariat is working for all partners, frequent travel to all the partner institutions is expected from the project managers - a driver's license is thus required.

The following experiences and qualities are expected:

Education and working experience:

  • Experience from working with international university research cooperation
  • Experience from working with study programmes, preferably at international level at an academic institution (university, Fachhochschule or university college)
  • Experience from working with research management, coordination of scientific cooperation
  • Profound knowledge about the German and/or Danish university sector
  • Preferably experience from project administration
  • Preferably experience from working or studying in both Germany and Denmark
  • Preferably knowledge of the business community in the region
  • Academic level of education, i.e. postgraduate level as a minimum
  • Fluent command of English and preferably both German and Danish (written and orally)

Personal characteristics:

  • Persistent and able to work under deadline constraints
  • Networking and able to establish new contacts
  • Enthusiastic, open-minded, innovative and able to find new ways
  • Team-oriented
  • Structured and strategic i.e. able to set and reach milestones and goals
  • Able to communicate internally and externally also in relation to media

The secretariat consists of three persons working closely together in a casual work environment. The day-to-day management will be handled by a project manager referring to Head of Office Lars Stig Møller.

The positions are full-time and are initially limited to the period 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2014. The project is partly financed by EU – Interreg 4A.

The successful applicants will be employed in accordance with conditions for employment of candidates in the Danish public sector e.g. the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC.
